Debris collection has ended in Santa Rosa County
Storm-related debris collection in Santa Rosa County has ended. The contracted debris hauler, Ceres Environmental, has completed three passes through the 1100-square-mile county.
Landfall Strategies, the contracted debris monitor, has completed final inspections in 95% of the county. If any discrepancies are noted, punch lists are created for the hauler, who returns to those specific areas to complete collections. Both the contracted hauler and monitor will break for the holidays until Mon., Jan. 4, when final punch lists will be completed.
Residents should prepare non-storm-related vegetative debris and bulk items as required for collection by their respective waste hauler or may dispose of those items at the Central Landfill (see location information and fees). Freshly cut vegetation, furniture, appliances, mattresses, or other items remaining curbside will be considered illegal dumping by the county's code enforcement division and may carry a penalty of $120 to $1200 per occurrence.
