The LDC contains regulations that govern how land is developed in the unincorporated areas of the county and addresses everything from zoning, site development, the natural environment and storm-water management to parking, sidewalks, landscaping and architectural design criteria.

Updating the LDC is a complex task that it will take at least a year to complete. 

Goals of the update include:

• modernizing the code to better address new uses and initiatives

• ​eliminating unnecessary regulations

• encouraging quality development

• streamlining the code to make it easier for the public to use and understand.

The public is invited to attend and give feedback on the LDC update.

Residents and businesses offer valuable insight and their contributions are vital to the decision-making process.
