Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Awareness Course

The Santa Rosa County Public Safety Department is partnering with Texas A&M Engineering Extension Services (TEEX) to hold the AWR 213 Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Awareness course on Wed., Mar. 20, 2024, at the Santa Rosa County Emergency Operation Center, 4499 Pine Forest Road in Milton. Those interested in taking the course can learn more and register online at https://teex.org/class/AWR213/. Click the "register" button next to the course offered in Milton on March 20, 2024. The deadline to register is Thur., Mar. 6.

The Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Awareness course will introduce participants to the key terms, policy, guidance, and preparedness efforts required to safeguard the Nation’s critical infrastructure. Participants will discuss the risk management framework, describe Federal critical infrastructure security and resilience and information-sharing programs, and relate critical infrastructure programs to individual actions. Focus will be placed on local preparedness efforts as they relate to the national approach to critical infrastructure security and resilience, enabling stakeholders to address local planning within a common framework. Informed planning is consistent with accepted emergency management standards as the basis for planning across the mission areas of prevention, protection, mitigation, response, and recovery.

Participants must be U.S. citizens. A FEMA Student ID is required to register for and participate in any training provided by FEMA agencies. All FEMA training providers, registration systems, and enrollment procedures are required to use this FEMA SID, which can be obtained at the following website: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid; or with TEEX assistance upon arrival for class.
