Newton worked at NBC for 15 years and came to Santa Rosa County exclusively to film the activities of the Gulf Coast Kiln Walk Society first firing of their Anagama kiln in Holley, FL.  “It’s a film about a community coming together around a fire, a really big fire, so I felt it was important to have the premiere in and with that community,” Newton said.

Newton tells the story centered around the largest historical wood fueled kiln in the State of Florida.  The film documents the what, why and how of what happens when you gather 8 tons of bricks, 5 cords of wood, 1000 pieces of pottery, 100 of your closest friends to help tend a fire for 5 days reaching temperatures of over 2450 degrees.  That’s what the film is about.
