September Commerce & Coffee - A Conversation Every Santa Rosa County Resident Should Hear

What do the decisions we make at the ballot box on Tuesday, November 3rd mean for the men and women who answer the call when we need them most?

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce invites Chamber members, business leaders and residents from throughout Santa Rosa County to join us for a special Breakfast with First Responders Panel at our September Commerce & Coffee on Friday, September 18, 2026, at St. Sylvester Catholic Church, 6464 Gulf Breeze Parkway.

With important decisions regarding the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) and property taxes before voters this November, this program will give attendees an opportunity to hear directly from local first responders about how these funding decisions could affect public safety in Santa Rosa County.

• Property taxes help keep people and operations in service.
• LOST helps provide many of the vehicles, equipment, facilities and capital assets those people use.

But what does that really mean on the front lines?

Our panel will bring together representatives from Santa Rosa County’s first responder community to discuss the services they provide, the resources required to provide them, and how the upcoming referendums could affect their ability to serve a rapidly growing county.

The conversation will include perspectives involving law enforcement, fire and rescue services, emergency medical response, ambulance services and beach safety/lifeguard operations.

This is not about telling anyone how to vote. It is about making sure voters have an opportunity to hear directly from the first responders who understand these issues firsthand before casting their ballots.
 

YOUR QUESTIONS MATTER

We are inviting attendees and members of the community to submit questions in advance for our First Responders Panel regarding the Local Option Sales Tax (LOST) and Property Tax Referendums.

• What happens when an ambulance, fire engine or patrol vehicle needs to be replaced?
• How are staffing and equipment funded differently?
• Could response times or services be affected?
• How does Santa Rosa County’s continued growth affect the resources first responders need?
• What should voters understand before heading to the polls?

This is your opportunity to ask. 

• You will have an opportunity to submit your question(s) when you register for the event.
