Annual Military Appreciation Picnic

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee will host the Annual Military Appreciation Picnic "Saluting Our Hometown Heroes" on Saturday, May 9th, from 11 am to 2 pm in Navarre Park, 8513 Navarre Parkway.

This year’s Military Appreciation Picnic is presented by TBA and is dedicated to honor, remember, recognize and appreciate those who have served, along with those now serving.  All service members and their families are invited to enjoy a free day of food, fun, games, fellowship and LIVE music provided by the TBA.

In the Navarre area, these everyday heroes surround us. They are our neighbors, little league coaches, co-workers and friends.  We make it a point to express our gratitude throughout the year to those currently serving in the armed forces, our veterans and their families," said Lisha Wallace, Chair of the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee.

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee is currently seeking donations for door prizes for the military attending.

The Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Committee Military Affairs Committee (MAC) is a group of Navarre Chamber Members who volunteer service to the military through support of the military mission and enhancement of the relationship between the community and the military.

Naval Air Station Whiting Field and Hurlburt Air Force Base have the largest economic impact on Santa Rosa County and the Navarre area.

“More than anything, the Picnic is a ‘thank you’ to military personnel and their families for being a very special part of our community,” said Navarre Chamber President/CEO, Chanda Ryan. “We’ll have our chamber members, board of directors and a number of other business and organizations throughout the Navarre area coming out to celebrate the military in our community.”

The event is also intended to foster a relationship between the military and the Navarre area business community. “We really value the relationship that our community has with our area military bases, and the partnership we have with the folks at the bases,” she said.

The event will focus on saluting military families, active duty, veterans and civilians alike.

We are expecting 600+ in attendance.
