Annual International Coastal Cleanup at National Seashore

Gulf Breeze, Fla. – Gulf Islands National Seashore officials announces participation in the upcoming annual International Coastal Cleanup.  The park is organizing volunteer crews to help clean park beaches on Saturday, September 16, from 9:00am to 11:00am.  Interested volunteers should meet at the Langdon Beach Pavilion in the Fort Pickens Area.

Volunteers assisting with the coastal cleanup will be admitted to the Fort Pickens Area free of charge for the cleanup.  International Coastal cleanup volunteers are advised to wear closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and hats.  Volunteers should also bring a reusable water bottle; the park will have water coolers to refill water bottles.

Coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy, the International Coastal Cleanup has grown into the largest volunteer beach cleanup event, globally.  Last year over 18 million pounds of trash were collected throughout the world’s coasts!
