    Event Description:

    Santa Claus is still coming to Christmas in the Park in 2020! The Navarre Chamber’s Merry Market, Photos With Santa and Mrs Clause and the Navarre  Community Christmas Parade is planned for Dec. 5 and the theme is “Celebrating Heroes of 2020”.

     

    The theme of the Annual Navarre Community Christmas Parade presented by PrimeLending will be “Celebrating Heroes of 2020” and will honor all the wonderful people who have gone above and beyond during this pandemic year to keep our families and community safe and healthy, including medical personnel, public safety officials, teachers and all school personnel, the faith community, our military and any and all others who have helped our community during this year.

     

    All Heroes that live and/or work in the Navarre community will be recognized as the 2020 Parade Grand Marshals.  If you and/or your business/organization would like to be publicly recognized as a Grand Marshal by having a complimentary entry in the parade, please complete a Parade Entry Form no later than Noon on Friday, December 4.  Here is a link to the Entry Form:  2020 Navarre Community Christmas Parade - Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, FL

     

    Frankie Gibbs, Navarre Chamber Board Member and Chair of the Chamber’s Christmas in the Park and Parade Committee said, “2020 has certainly presented some challenges to our daily lives, but our Committee, with the support of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, acknowledges the fact that Christmas is such a special time and celebrating the time-honored tradition of the 26th Annual Christmas in the Park presented by Navarre Walmart and the Walmart Neighborhood Market and the Navarre Community Christmas Parade presented by PrimeLending are important to the businesses and residents in the Navarre area.  We hope everyone will come out and enjoy the holiday spirit at this year’s event as we find creative ways to continue celebrating this special time of the year.”

     

    There are currently a few spots still available in the Merry Market for Artists & Crafters that will be held on Saturday, December 5 from 9 am to 4 pm outside in Navarre Park.  Here is a link to the Vendor Application:  2020 Merry Market Registration Form - Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, FL

     

    Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by fire truck in the parade and will be available for socially distanced photos with children in Navarre Park as soon as the parade ends.  Visits are free and parents are invited to bring their cameras for photos. 

     

    Free individually wrapped baked goods will be available at Mrs. Claus’ Bakery - Sponsored by: Okaloosa Gas District.

     

    The Parade will be held on Presidio Street, beginning at the Navarre Library (8484 James M. Harvey Road) and ending behind Centennial Bank.  Applications are now available online at 2020 Navarre Community Christmas Parade - Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, FL

     

    The deadline for applications is Noon on Tuesday, December 1.  The parade entry fee is $50.  In the event that unforeseen circumstances at the time requires the cancellation of the parade a full refund will be sent to the parade entries.

     

    The Navarre Chamber Christmas in the Park and Community Parade Committee suggests that in light of the current pandemic that each unit adhere to CDC guidelines and further suggests that no more than 10 participants be on a float.  

     

    Walking units are also encouraged in order to allow for proper social distancing and masks are encouraged for participants and attendees.  

     

    The official lighting of the 20-foot Community Christmas Tree will be held at approximately 4:45 pm in Navarre Park.  This year's Christmas Tree is being sponsored by University Lending Group and Centennial Bank.

     

    A new addition to this year’s Christmas in the Park event is the Inaugural Let It Glow Holiday Lights & Decorating Competition for businesses and residents in South Santa Rosa County, and it is being sponsored by Gulf Power Company.

     

    There is nothing better than seeing twinkling lights during the holiday season...other than winning a CA$H PRIZE for voting for:  BEST BUSINESS LIGHTS DISPLAY and BEST RESIDENTIAL LIGHTS DISPLAY.     The Navarre Chamber Foundation's Jingle Bell 5K Run/Walk Fun Run will begin at 8 am at the Holley-Navarre Fire Station at 8618 Esplanade Street (behind McDonalds's).  The first 200 registrants receive a long sleeve t-shirt.  There will be post race refreshments and door prizes.  A special prize will be awarded to the most festive participant.  You can download a registration form at www.navarrechamberfoundation.org

     

    The Navarre Chamber will be following COVID-19 CDC Guidelines and recommending everyone please socially distance and wear masks if you cannot be socially distanced.
